Details

The CTI Comet USB is a Caller ID unit with either USB or Serial connectivity.

These compact Caller ID units are the most reliable way of ensuring Caller ID information is made available to your EPOS terminals. It decodes the Caller's telephone number from the telephone line and presents it on a virtual COM Port of your PC/EPOS Terminal.

Advisory for USB Version
The Comet derives its power from the USB connection of the Serial connection. Users may experience problems with the operating of the Comet CTI Unit via a USB connection if the PC/EPOS Terminal to which it is connected is allowed to turn off the USB Root Hub and hence switch off the Caller ID Unit. It is strongly recommended that the Power Management for the USB Root Hub is therefore disabled.

Compatibility Warning
Caller ID is unly available where your telephone service provider is providing the Caller ID feature on your line. Many companies include Caller ID as standard, but some companies such as British Telecom change a nominal fee for the Caller ID Presentation Service. If you do not have caller ID enabled on your line then this nor any other Caller ID solution would be able to provide the Caller ID Information. If in doubt you should check with your telephone service provider.
